President Marcos Jr. appoints Apayao Gov. Bulut Jr. as RDC Chairperson


Apayao, Philippines – President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. appointed Apayao Governor Elias Bulut Jr. as the Chairperson of the Regional Development Council – Cordillera (RDC-CAR).


Regional Director Susan Sumbeling of National Economic and Development Authority – Cordillera and RDC-CAR Vice-Chairperson announced that the private sector representative for the indigenous people’s sector, Edna Tabanda was appointed as the Co-Chairperson.

To recall, Bulut and Benguet Governor Melchor Diclas were nominated for said position and were endorsed by the regional council to the Office of the President in September.


With their appointment, Bulut and Tabanda will serve for a fixed term of three years coinciding with the regular term of local elective officials, says the official public information arm of the government.


In an earlier interview, Bulut vowed to ensure that all provinces shall be given equal treatment, especially in terms of project implementation.

“There are some reforms na gusto nating mangyari para mabilis ang process. Di ba ang RDC, supposed to be to prepare, layout all the plans na gusto ng mga probinsiya nation, especially sa mga regional offices for the entire region so I wanted na lahat ng governor will be involved. They will chair the cluster or the sector, sectoral ang gusto kong approach, eh. So, they will chair the different sector that they wanted,” he earlier conveyed.


The Apayao Governor likewise pledged that the government aid will reach the residents in the region.
